I bought this mat after I tried a friend's. I had two other mats, but they weren't very sticky, were too thin, and one smells strongly of chemicals even though I tried to let it air out over a few months. Laying on it in a yoga class actually made me feel sick.



The original tapas mat is very light (even though I purchased the "ultra"-- which is thicker than the original "orignal"), very, very sticky and does not reek of plasticy, rubbery chemicals at all.



I think it would be hard to be disappointed with this product.

I like this mat. Many of us in my class have these. Each one is unique. You can tell the dye pattern is unique to the mat, which I like. It suits my practice of Yoga - unique to me.

The mat is standard length and thickness, high quality, sticky, nice texture. It has lasted a long time, which I appreciate. I also like that it doesn't smell. If I have used it a lot, I just hand wash with water and a little soap and it is like new.

The colors are great and it feels like...a purifying fire.

I am very disappointed. The picture of the mat shows a striped pattern. The mat I received does not have a pattern. I bought this one for the stripes. If I knew it was a solid color I wouldn't have wasted my money on this one.

I love the color and the quality seems nice on this yoga mat.

My only issue with it is that it tends to get slippery upon sweating. My MAIN reason for purchasing a yoga mat was because the mat I was using (just an old used exercise mat but thick!), was due to a tendon injury from slipping during a pose. I researched these TO DEATH before I finally decided on this one based on the good reviews and the price.

If anyone claims that this mat doesn't get slippery when sweating they're not sweating!

Perhaps over time it will somehow get..."worked in"...and the slippery factor isn't HORRIBLE but it's a factor I was so trying to remedy in this purchase....

It IS soft, and colorful and seems sturdy although I found it to gather up at times during transitions from poses like downward dog into upward dog....and the like.

It's not a BAD mat but I was expecting something more tactile and less smooth.

This mat has it all. It's beautiful (the colors are rich and vibrant), and the texture is perfect (soft, sticky, durable). My first mat was from Gaiam, which has a beautiful print but is too slippery. My second was Savasa Natural Designs Collection Yoga Mat, which is nice but a little thin and starting to show wear. The Hugger Mugger mat's colors are part of the material (not just a print on top), and it feels substantial while also providing a great surface for holding poses. I'm surprised by how much I like the orange-red color, but it's so nice, I might just have to buy a purple-blue one as well!

I really like the colors of this mat as well as the thickness!! It is such a nice treat to do yoga with a mat as nice as this. It's also easy to find in a classroom full of single color mats. It did have a relatively strong odor when it first arrived, but I just opened it up near an open window in a spare bedroom and the smell was gone pretty quickly (within 3 days.) The beauty of the mat is worth the slight inconvenience of an initial odor.

I've been practicing yoga for almost a year now. Before this one, I had a cheapo mat that I bought at Wal-mart. It just wasn't sticky enough for me. So, after a little research - I'm not ready to throw down $89 for one of those fancy real rubber mats - I decided on the Hugger Mugger. So far, I like it a lot. It didn't smell bad out of the box, it's light, thick enough to support you (although I do need to use a towel under my knees in some postures), and it's a lot stickier than my last mat. I will say that I do still slide on it, usually towards the end when we're good and warm, but I am waiting to see if that is just because it is new. I've probably used it about a dozen times already and although it hasn't improved much (stickiness-wise), I haven't had a chance to give it a good cleaning with soap and water either. Usually I just throw a towel down under my hands when I start sliding. Bottom line, it feels good - not too hard, not too soft, it looks great, doesn't smell, but my hands do slide a bit in downward dog. I would recommend this mat overall.

I like the width (a little extra width, compared to most mats). It is also a nice length. I am 5' 5" and I have plenty of room. I love the thickness, as it helps to cushion the knees and back side. The color is also pleasing. I have only had it a short time, so it is not quite sticky enough yet, when I am sweating, but I think it will be soon, and it still does the job. I let it air out a couple of days after reading other reviews, and it did the job for my mat. I would definitely buy it again.

I like using this yoga mat; it's a pretty color and design, has a firm, somewhat sticky surface that is excellent for standing poses and also is thick enough to cushion knees and elbows. I find the standard length and width o.k. for my practice, but some might want to purchase one of the larger ones offered.

I think the material should stand up better than some of the softer mats I've used. It's one of the less expensive mats on this site, but is listed for more on the manufacturer's site. Overall, I think this is an excellent, reasonably priced mat for both beginners and more advanced yoga students.

Great product. It is a little "thicker" than normal yoga mats at this price. At first you have to let it air out and once that period is over (48 hours)... it's a fantastic product. My wife loves it.

I really like this blanket because it is nice and supportive when folded and makes and excellent prop. I haven't had much of a problem with fluff pieces flying around when I open and close it, but this may because I mainly use it in folded and rolled positions as a prop rather than as an actual blanket. The color is much more purple than it appears in the picture.

This is purple. It matches the on-screen color perfectly. But the touch is awful. I had hoped for the warmth and softness of the wool blankets I've had at my yoga studios. But no. This is scratchy, like Grandma's wool sweater. I recommend looking elsewhere. Or better yet, buy a wool yoga blanket in a store if you can so you can touch it first -- makes a huge difference. I felt dumg when I got this...I shouldn't have ordered wool without "test driving" it in a store.

This is a nice blanket for Savasana and using under hips while sitting, but it sheds a lot of fuzz. When folding it a lot of purple bits fly around. This may get better with repeated washing. The color is good, more purple than it looks in the picture.

Purchased this bench for my husband's meditation retreat because he cannot sit for a long while. He did need to sand down the legs a touch to make the fit snug, but he has been very happy with it.

Hugger Mugger Meditation Bench (Plum)I LOVE THIS BENCH!! I have experienced severe hip pain during extended meditations on a traditional cusion. Using a bench has eliminated that. One of the reviews of this product complained that it was squeaky, however, mine has not had that problem. It is lightweight and easy to carry, and the removable cusion is very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have a gomden and bought the bench as another meditation seat not a replacement. It is also easier to transport than the gomden.
The bench is comfortable and pretty secure. It puts you in a nice straight back position. Occasionally you have to readjust the legs, which are hinged.
Since it is made of plywood it is durable but not an example of furniture as fine art

I purchased this wool yoga blanket as an addition to the two non-woven Hugger Mugger yoga blankets I already owned. It is more pliable than the non-woven blankets and can be rolled up into a smaller blanket roll. The wool blanket is a nice addition to my yoga props collection--the non-woven blankets provide the firm foundation required for some yoga poses and the wool blanket's flexability is helpful for others. All of the Hugger Mugger blankets are well made and have held up to daily use for my yoga practice. Also, the blankets don't smell funny, which is important to my sensitive nose.

I am a yoga therapist (one-on-one dialogue while assisting with postures). These blankets are the only props that I really need. I like to keep things simple, don't see the need for expensive bolsters. These blankets are soft yet provide good support.

I love the Josha wipes. They don't have an overpowering smell and they clean my yoga mat efficiently. They are better than anything else I've ever used.

I think the wipes are a little small to clean an entire may but otherwise they seem to do what they are supposed to. -1 star for size. Pleasant smelling but not at all lingering or overpowering. I suggest using this right before your practice as the aromatherapy dissapates pretty fast.

I initially purchased this mat when first starting yoga (Iyengar) 3 years ago--however, I've found that even with multiple washings, it is just not sticky enough for me for many poses. I must have sweatier feet and hands than others who have used this mat! I am waiting to receive Harmony's rubber mat--this one is used in the yoga studio I go to and seems quite sticky.
