I needed a mat which would not only remain 'in place' but also one that would allow my feet to move smoothly (without sticking to the mat) when doing vinyasa (flow) yoga. This mat met both needs.



I do yoga in my garage on a concrete floor. I have tried many mats on many surfaces (including thick and thin rugs!)but none would stick to the floor and yet allow me to move my feet quickly in sun salutations and glide smoothly when moving in modified chaturangas! My best solution was a bamboo mat (cloth on one side)...which sticks like glue to the concrete floor...and this mat on top of the bamboo mat. (I tried a mysore cotton mat on top of the bamboo and it would have been fine except that it was not long enough. I would have needed either a shorter bamboo mat or a longer mysore cotton mat. The solace mat works well because it is cotton on one side...for easy flow movements...yet sticks to the bamboo on the other side. Therefore, it can be shorter than the bamboo mat.)



I love this combination so much that I got a 2nd bamboo mat (for a total space of 6'x8') and use 2 of the solace mats on top of the bamboo. This allows me ample room for reclining twists and even roll-overs (when I am experimenting on my own or when doing yin yoga)!



I have recommended them to all my yogi friends!

Great mat at a wonderful discounted price! My only minor complaint is my hands/feet slip during certain poses which can be a bit of a distraction to my ashtanga practice. Other than that I am extremely satisfied with this product!

I returned this product because I found it unnecessary for Bikram yoga. It is a beautiful mat but overpriced for what it is - a thin rug. It reminded me of a kitchen or bathroom rug. A towel will do for most hot yoga but if you want a distinct mat and don't mind spending the money,I would highly recommend this mat.

If you meditate in a group and move at all during meditation, this bench might be a bit too squeaky. It's got metal hinges (come to think of it, maybe you could grease them a bit to get rid of the squeak without making a mess) to fold it down. That also makes it a little less stable.

If you don't think you need to be able to fold it down, you're probably better off with a solid construction without hinges.

the legs could use something to lock them open, it was a bit tricky the first time I used it, but all in all very nice for the price.

Meditators/Buddhists out there interested in, or sure of the "seiza" style of sitting should find this bench ideal. Very comfortable and facilitates a proper straight-back position. Comes with a nice pad; is foldable/easily transportable and is quite sturdy and well-crafted in hardwood.

Very much worth the money!

I felt it wasn't too badly priced and when you are sitting for a while meditating, it's great idea to switch positions and it was good enough to give my legs some relief.

I've moved on to machine washing, baking it in the Sun, and leaving it outside during thunderstorms. I'm about to follow my teacher's advice and run it over with my car. Beautiful, yes .... but far from fuctional! And it smells weird too.

I have the black mandara hugger mugger mat (which is wider and longer than a standard mat). Not only does it fit in the bag, but I can also fit my block and towel with room to spare--VERY ROOMY :) This was exactly what I was looking for.

This Yoga Mat Bad is a little larger than most. The fabic is ligh and the color is bright. It is also very eash to clean. Snow, ice and salt are issues in our part of the country so after getting a bit dirty during our walk to work out, we took it home and all we needed to do was sponge it off. It looks great.

I would not have bought this bag if I had seen it in person.

It will suffice, but it's too floppy looking to be rocking on the streets with style.

This bag has a great color, and it does the job that it's supposed to. I can even fit my yoga pants and water bottle in here, but it's a little too big. It does not hang comfortably on my back, and it's way too awkward at my side.

I guess it was worth it because I like the way that it looks, but it didn't even come with a yoga mat.

Pros- I bought this mat for yoga class, but it would work well for pilates, too. The thickness (which is actually 3/8") is wonderful for preventing pain in my knees, hips and wrists. Not the best for balancing poses, of course, but I've always stepped off even the thinnest mats for balancing. I am 5' 7" and the extra few inches of length really make a difference. I don't have to adjust as often to keep my whole body on the mat.



Cons- Can get a little slippery if it gets wet, although this seems to be happening less the more I use it. Still, this mat might not work for you if you sweat heavily. It doesn't lay totally flat on the end you first roll up, so you have to unroll it and then flip it over so it won't curl up while you're using it. It smelled a bit strong at first, but I just gave it rub down with a dilute blend of Mrs. Meyers all-purpose cleaner and water and then left it unrolled for a few days in a well-ventilated area. It took about 2 weeks for the smell to dissipate completely.



Overall I'm very happy with this mat. Many people in class have asked me where I bought it. I will update this review after several months of regular use with regard to durability. Right now it's too early to tell how well it will hold up.

This Yoga Mat Bad is a little larger than most. The fabic is ligh and the color is bright. It is also very eash to clean. Snow, ice and salt are issues in our part of the country so after getting a bit dirty during our walk to work out, we took it home and all we needed to do was sponge it off. It looks great.

I have the black mandara hugger mugger mat (which is wider and longer than a standard mat). Not only does it fit in the bag, but I can also fit my block and towel with room to spare--VERY ROOMY :) This was exactly what I was looking for.

This bag has a great color, and it does the job that it's supposed to. I can even fit my yoga pants and water bottle in here, but it's a little too big. It does not hang comfortably on my back, and it's way too awkward at my side.

I guess it was worth it because I like the way that it looks, but it didn't even come with a yoga mat.

I would not have bought this bag if I had seen it in person.

It will suffice, but it's too floppy looking to be rocking on the streets with style.
